Derived from the words Sigla (energy) and Lakas (strength), SIGLAKAS is more than just a sports event. It is a meaningful school tradition that brings together students, parents, teachers, and families in a celebration of unity, perseverance, friendship, and healthy competition. Throughout the week, learners from Preschool to Junior High School participated in various tournaments and activities that encouraged both athletic excellence and character development.

From volleyball and basketball matches to chess and Scrabble competitions, students demonstrated discipline, teamwork, strategy, and sportsmanship. Each event highlighted not only their growing skills but also their confidence and determination as members of their respective teams.

Strengthening the Franciscan Spirit Through Sports and Family Participation

More than medals and trophies, SIGLAKAS Family Sports Day represents the heart of the Franciscan learning experience. It provides students with opportunities to grow in confidence, cooperation, leadership, and resilience while strengthening friendships and deepening their connection with the school community.

The presence and participation of parents made the celebration even more meaningful. Through cheering competitions, family games, and shared moments of joy and encouragement, families became active partners in creating a vibrant and supportive learning environment for their children.

In the spirit of Cura Personalis, or care for the whole person, SIGLAKAS continues to nurture not only physical strength but also character, teamwork, and a sense of community belonging among our learners.

Congratulations to all students, parents, teachers, and teams who made SIGLAKAS Family Sports Day 2026 a joyful and memorable celebration of energy, unity, and Franciscan pride. We look forward to many more years of growing stronger togetherβ€”with sigla and lakas!

Last August 22, 2025, St. Francis of Assisi Montessori School of Cainta proudly kicked off its Buwan ng Wikacelebration with vibrant preschool performances. Our young learners showcased their Filipino pride through traditional dances and heartfelt poetry, embodying the richness of our culture at such an early age.

Buwan ng Wika is one of the most anticipated month-long celebrations at St. Francis Cainta. Through activities such as declamations, poetry readings, and musical performances, students highlight their appreciation for the Filipino language and culture. These events not only deepen their understanding of our national heritage’s virtues but also instill pride in their Filipino identity, while emphasizing the importance of preserving our country’s diverse languages and traditions.

Here are some photos and videos capturing the joy and energy of this wonderful event.

SFAMSC Bonfire Yell 2025: Scouts Celebrate Filipino Values at Annual Camporee!

The SFAMSC Bonfire Yell is one of the most anticipated highlights of the annual SFAMSC Scouting Camporee for Grades 4 to 10. Each year, scouts receive a theme that connects them to their Filipino heritage. The theme can focus on historical landmarks, national events, or Filipino heroes. This year, the chosen theme was traditional Filipino values, encouraging scouts to celebrate and express the values that shape their culture and identity.

Each patrol was assigned a specific Filipino value, and their yells and choreography were crafted to reflect that value. The scouts brought these values to life through creative lyrics, energetic movements, and strong teamwork, showcasing their spirit and pride in carrying forward these important cultural lessons. The Bonfire Yell was a vibrant display of unity, respect, and joy, bringing everyone together around the shared pride in the SFAMSC community of our Filipino roots.

SFAMSC Welcomes the Image of Our Lady of Fatima for Holy Rosary Month of October 2024

On October 18, in honoring the Month of the Holy Rosary, St. Francis of Assisi Montessori School of Cainta (SFAMSC) was blessed with a visit from the image of Our Lady of Fatima, brought from Our Lady of Light Parish. Each October, the image of Mother Mary visits selected institutions in Cainta as part of a special tradition to spread devotion and blessings.

At SFAMSC, the image was placed at the altar in our Activity Center, where students and staff gathered to pray the rosary. It was a moment of deep reflection and unity, as the school community honored the Blessed Mother and embraced her presence.

SFAMSC Brings Cheer and Compassion to Home of Joy for the Sick Children

In a heartwarming display of community and compassion, the Student Council of SFAMSC, led by their advisor, Teacher Mario Follero, recently organized a memorable outreach program at the Missionaries of Charity Home of Joy for the Sick Children. The event was a vibrant festival of joy, designed to bring smiles to the faces of orphaned and impoverished children from the local area. Students and teachers came together to prepare an engaging lineup of parlor games, dance routines, and musical performances, ensuring every moment was filled with fun and laughter. The air was excited as children reveled in a flurry of activities and relished the chance to win delightful prizes, including toys, coloring books, and other treats.

The festivities were complemented by a sumptuous meal lovingly prepared by the school's dedicated faculty and staff. The menu featured a hearty lunch of Chicken Tinola, steaming hot rice, and fresh bananas, all served with care and warmth, making the mealtime a highlight of the day. The effort put forth by the school community was palpable as teachers and volunteers juggled their end-of-year duties to make this event a priority, showcasing their commitment to serving others, a cornerstone of the SFAMSC spirit.

Our heartfelt gratitude extends to all who made this event possible. Special thanks go to Ma'am Rorie, whose meticulous planning and motivation were instrumental in the day's success. Immense appreciation is also due to our dedicated teachers who prepared all our activities, managed the games, and choreographed the music and dance performances. We also extend our thanks to the generous parents whose contributions were vital in bringing the event to life. Lastly, we are profoundly thankful to the sisters of the Missionaries of Charity for hosting us, reminding us of Mother Teresa's teachings that true service lies in caring for those in need. Inspired by her words, we left the Home of Joy with full hearts and a renewed commitment to service, ready to spread more smiles and joy in the days to come.
