The SFAMSC Library Aquire 90 Volumes of One Piece Manga!

Teacher Mario and Teacher Jetly show off copies of One Piece.

We are delighted to announce our largest manga collection to date! The SFAMSC Library has procured NINETY (90) volumes of the globally renowned and world’s best selling manga series, One Piece. The manga series follows Monkey D. Luffy, a young man who sets out to become the King of the Pirates by finding the mythical treasure, the One Piece. This series holds the Guinness World Record for the most copies published by a single author.

This extensive collection will be prominently featured in our special section when the SFAMSC library officially opens in SY 2023-2024. As passionate advocates for literacy, we strive to offer our students a diverse and captivating reading experience by amassing a wide range of books, manga, and novels. Our hope is to inspire a love of reading, and provide a fulfilling alternative to spending excessive time on social media and video games.

Why We Decided to Stay Online for SY 2022-2023

Dear SFAMSC Family

We hope you and your family are doing well. Thanks to the grace of God, Covid cases have been gradually declining and our nation is slowly opening up again. Several schools even announced they will be returning to face-to-face classes next school year, however, we prefer to be extra cautious and continue our online classes for SY 2022-2023.

We based our decision on the uncertainty and risks of face-to-face classes, and the overall sentiment of the SFAMSC community. In an internal survey with our parents, guardians, teachers, and students - an overwhelming 406 of 580, or 70% of the respondents answered we should continue online classes for the next school year.

We hope for everyone’s understanding and cooperation. Let us always care for each other and continue to pray for the healing of our nation.

School Opening and Parent-Student Orientation

SFAMSC School Opening Sept 1 2020.jpg

We have consulted the Department of Education, and they have informed us that the October 5 opening is for Public schools. Private schools can set the date of their opening.

With that said, the first day of school will begin on September 1, 2020 (Tuesday). We decided to move our opening date because of three reasons:

  1. MECQ affected our teacher training and technical testing schedules. An online school is like an IT company that requires intensive training and testing to make sure our online classes go smoothly. We do not want to skip on that.

  2. We have received a lot of requests from parents asking us to give them more time for enrolment.

  3. We are waiting for our third backup internet line from Globe. Although we already have dedicated and high-speed lines from PLDT and Converge, we decided to have a third backup because we do not want to take any chances. We will be hosting over 300 students simultaneously every day for many hours on our unique online platforms, and that requires fast, consistent, and reliable internet connections.

The start of our Student Orientation will begin on August 24 and our Parent Orientation on August 27. We will be using a different and more practical approach than the usual Zoom conference. We will release more details shortly.

We promise to keep you updated. May God always bless you and your family and keep them all safe.
